Planning for 2025 Parade Underway!

The Fayetteville Rotary Christmas Parade sponsored by the Fayetteville Rotary Club and Rotary International is preparing for the 2025 Parade.  A holiday tradition since 1999, this is the Fayetteville Rotary Club’s 26th year hosting the Christmas Parade

The Grand Marshal has been a long-standing tradition for the parade and this year, the Fayetteville Rotary Club begins a new tradition, selecting both an individual and a community organization to lead the parade through downtown.   The 2025 parade will be led by recently retired E.E. Smith High School Marching Band director Roosevelt Pratt, Jr. and the Salvation Army of the Sandhills.

Pratt led the award-winning “Magnificent Marching Machine” for 28 years. Annually, the band has rivaled Santa Claus, as the Christmas parade’s most popular entry!   Under his direction, the band won hundreds of awards and during his tenure, 27 of his students went on to lead bands as drum majors at historically Black colleges and universities across the Southeast.

The Salvation Army of the Sandhills has served our community since 1887.  Each holiday season, it conducts its Red Kettle Campaign and Angel Tree Program, bringing Christmas joy to children and seniors in need. This year, through an expanded partnership with Toys for Tots, the Angel Tree Program is expected to serve four times as many individuals.   In addition, over the last century, has raised funds for the Bill Shaw Salvation Army Christmas Fund to support both seasonal and year-round social service programs in our community.

Entries in this year’s parade will include Andrea Young, Rotary International District 7730 Governor, local marching bands, dance groups, motorcycles, and horses and everyone’s favorite, Santa Claus.  Also featured will be Ville City Jeeps, local jeep owners and the parade’s official safety partners since 2022.
